Rashkis Read-A-Thon 2023:
TRAVEL THROUGH THE PAGES!

The Rashis PTA is excited to bring back the annual tradition of the Rashkis Read-a-Thon. This year’s theme, Travel Through the Pages, celebrates reading and all that we love about Rashkis! Our school-wide goals are to log 100,000 minutes of reading and raise at least $11,000 for our classrooms.

If each family can raise at least $40, we will reach our goal. How does the Read-a-Thon Work?

● Students and their families raise donations (either per minute of reading or a fixed-amount donation). All proceeds from the Read-a-Thon support Rashkis Elementary.

● Read, Read, Read! Any time spent reading outside schooltime. Listening to a book (such as a recording or another person reading aloud) counts if the student is following along in the text and/or paying attention. Students record the minutes they read each day on their Reading Log.

● Volunteers will tally reading minutes entered on student reading logs every day during the Read-a-Thon. Classes within each grade will compete with each other for the highest number of minutes read.

● Ways to donate pledges:

Venmo (preferred way): @Rashkis-PTA

○ Rashkis PTA website pledge button: https://www.rashkispta.org/readathon-1

○ Checks, made payable to the Rashkis PTA (put Read-a-thon in the Memo), which can be sent to school with students or dropped off at the school building

● If you have additional family members, relatives, or friends who wish to donate, you can send the link to them, too. All donations need to be made no later than March 8 to count toward the Read-a-thon.
